Welcome to the Junction Eleven blog, a visual journal of the people, small businesses and places in and around Reading, Berkshire in the U.K.The idea is to show how diverse the area is and to highlight people, places and enterprises that you wouldn't normally be aware of. Our lives are so busy these days and one result of that is that a sense of community is often eroded.
I thought it would be a nice idea to photograph and preserve something of the area through the people that live here and the activities they pursue.
My name is Simon Kemp and I am a professional people photographer from Spencers Wood, near Reading.
I've lived in the area for fifteen years and love photographing people for a living. So this blog is also an opportunity for me to take pictures for pleasure - of characters that appeal to me visually, artistically and ethically.
